Lengthy careers as a nurse and in the financial and administrative areas of a large corporate/academic hospital system provide Melissa Campesi with a unique foundation to lead LCTA. After serving as the vice chairman on LCTA’s board of directors for six years, Melissa was named chief executive officer and chairman of the board in 2013. She also serves as the treasurer and is an investment committee member.
Melissa has more than 30 years of management experience at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, including ten years as vice president. In addition to her position as vice president, she also served as chief nursing officer, chief operating officer, and director of Tulane Physician Clinics.
While at Tulane, Melissa also spent two years at the Louisiana Division Office of Health Corporation of America (HCA) as the director of operations improvement. In this role, she was responsible for improving patient care while negotiating cost saving support service contracts for 18 hospitals across Louisiana.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans.
Patrick Owen Campesi’s vast experience in management positions throughout his career have made him a valuable member of the board of directors. In addition to serving as the vice chairman of the board, Patrick also serves as the audit committee chair and an investment committee member.
Currently, Patrick provides oversight and vision for a diverse group of companies as the owner and manager of Crown Enterprises, LLC, a position he has held for more than 20 years. Concurrently, he manages Cooling Tower Technologies, Inc. as its president. His career also includes experience as the cost manager at Manufacturer Enterprises, Inc. and as the office manager of Campesi Enterprises.
Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in finance from Nicholls State University.
Vision and leadership are part of the skillset that Geralyn C. Contini lends to the board of directors. She serves on the Investment Committee and as an Audit Committee Member.
Geralyn has more than 40 years of experience in international agribusiness and management. She currently serves as the chief executive officer at the Schaffer Group. In this position, she is responsible for guiding and supporting the management team, guiding partnerships, and managing the strategic, financial, and commercial direction for the Schaffer Group.
In addition to serving on the LCTA board, Geralyn also sits on the board of Schaffer International Services, LLC. She is also a member and former chairperson of the Louisiana District Export Council for the U.S. Department of Commerce, an ambassador to the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, and a former member of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Advisory Committee on Emerging Markets.
With a career that spans over 37 years, John Haas Weinstein brings an arsenal of skills to the LCTA board of directors. In addition to his management skills, John’s experience as a trial lawyer with a strong background in financial transactions and complicated business disputes makes him an asset to the board. John is also an Audit Committee Member and Chair of the Nominating/Compensation Committee.
Now retired, his career achievements include owning his law corporation, John Haas Weinstein. During his career he also served as a managing member of Haas Hirsch Interests and of Weinstein, et al, LLC.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance and accounting from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate from the Paul Hebert Law Center at LSU. During his collegiate career, John played LSU football, and was part of the 1970 Southeastern Conference Championship football team.
D’Angelo founded Investar Bank in Baton Rouge, La., in 2005, and grew the full-service community bank to eleven locations and $800 million in total assets within eight years. He was responsible for all phases of operations and successfully led Investar through its initial public offering in July 2014. Prior to launching Investar Bank, D’Angelo had 30 years of financial experience including positions with the former Hibernia National Bank and KPMG Peat Marwick.
D’Angelo is actively involved in the Baton Rouge community. He is currently the acting chairman of Neese Industries and the incoming chairman for Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area. He has previously served on the boards of the Baton Rouge Symphony, Friends of the Baton Rouge Zoo, Friends of the Environment, Bishop Sullivan Development Committee, Volunteers in Public Schools, Louisiana Resource Center for Education and the Neighborhood Association.
D’Angelo earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Louisiana State University in 1982, and became a certified public accountant in 1986.
He currently serves as the Investment Committee Chair, an Audit Committee Member, and on the Nominating/Compensation Committee.
